Travel to BCN

 Second entry! Conclusion: I arrived in Barcelona with all my luggage (to my knowledge)! 

After a lovely breakfast prepared by my friend. We started the trip at 9:30 travelling by metro to the Brussels train station where we took the train to Lille. Here our luggage didn’t fit in the luggage rack so we sat by the door to hold our stuff luckily the train ride only lasted half an hour. 


Here we had to transfer to another train station by foot at which point I was questioning my decision to take all this (heavy) luggage, carrying this luggage in and out of the trains, up and down the stairs was definitely my least favourite part of my trip.

we had some time in Lille so chilled in the sun and then got on the train to Paris. We had to take the metro to another station in Paris and there were multiple lines of about 30 people (barely moving) waiting to buy a ticket for the metro. As we had calculated for possible hiccups we had quite some time for each of the transfers. So I say to my friend (very loudly as always) “Can you imagine having 45 mins to get to the other metro station and seeing this line”. Which cause the lady in front of me to turn around and say: “Yup that’s what we are trying to do, you really hit where it hurts”. I tried to make up for the awkwardness by continuing to talk which obviously only nadenkt more awkward. She decided to ask if she could go before everyone in front of her, so I hope she made it! We made it to the other station had some lunch and stepped on the train to Barcelona. Here we had an almost 7 hour train ride ahead so got comfy and ate our snacks, had good conversation, taking in some views



, and attempted to destroy one another in the board game I brought and tried (and failed multiple times) to book my friend’s Airbnb for when he continues interrailing after staying with me in Barcelona. 

Then we arrived in Barcelona without anything to exciting happening so I decided to directly go to me flat and meet my new roommates instead of staying at the Airbnb I booked, as we were both quite energetic. We went to me new home by metro and I got a first peak at the neighbourhood by night😍. I got a tour of the flat and everything is even nicer than expected, so I am super happy with how chaos free the trip was and super super excited for the fact that this new chapter is actually starting 🥳🥳🥳.

Start of the trip!

 Due to popular request (three people), I will attempt to keep track of my move to Barcelona. This is hella awkward so bear with me. Hopefully, the quality will increase over time. Also don't know what things I will actually be sharing, how often I will update the blog or if this format will even work for me (or for you guys) but we will see. As my trip has lasted less than one hour up until now I will keep it short and sweet. I stepped on the train (please climate don't make me regret this) at Schiphol and was more than an hour early to minimise the possibility of problems, which obviously arose (Chaos alert) when I decided to leave my wallet in my friend's car that brought me to Schiphol. I had enough time to retrieve it, so all was well. Anyhow, getting on the train went quite smooth and putting the luggage (5 pieces) away as well (shout out to my little brother). Let's hope for the same energy tomorrow with 16 hours of travel and two transfers. A friend will travel ...

A month in Barcelona!

 So I have been here for a month now and I can definitely say that moving to this city was a great decision. Life has felt like a vacation eventhough I am slowly starting have some routines, life is still full of weekly new experiences. What experiences, you ask. So it was definitely a bad idea to wait two weeks with updating my blog, because I am extremely forgetful. I will try my best to list everything and if I have enough energy put them in the correct order.  As the weeks before my baseline has become working, bouldering and having multiple dinners with the roommates through out the week. Alongside going out on Friday and having brunch with the roomies on the weekend. I am getting used to the situation at work a bit more. I can't say that it is necessarily better but I definitely feel more at ease. So from last week I remember having two board game nights, my roommates really like board games so we invited a friend over the first time (lost everything that night) and went...

Random post with unrelated events

So I would love to say I was to busy to write anything in the past couple of days, but honestly I was just putting it forward for some reason :-). I guess this method of updating is still not super natural to me. My second week in Barcelona was definitely less eventful. I went to scope out good places for my hobbies. I went out dancing Bachata and went climbing with a friend and a lot of hanging out with my roommates (Bananagrams in Spanish was a definite highlight). Also a lot of administrative stuff like getting a bank account and registration in the city had to be done! Which all went quite easy, especially compared to the stories I heard! After fixing all of the administrative that was necessary to start working, I went and booked myself a little trip in the south of Spain! Wednesday I would set of to Malaga but before this, I dyed my hair blonde. New city, new look I guess B-). So yeah I took the train for 6.5 hours and no this is not a slow train Spain is just that freaking big. ...
